This privacy notice lets you know how we safeguard your personal data (“data”) we collect and the measures we take to keep it safe. We recommend that you read this notice, which highlights information about our privacy practices.

II. Overview

This notice applies to users of Yizcab’s apps, and other services globally.

This notice applies to all Yizcab users globally, unless they use a service covered by a separate privacy notice. This notice specifically applies to: 

Riders: those who request or receive transportation and related services via their Yizcab account. 

Drivers: those who provide transportation to Riders individually via their Yizcab account. 

Order recipients: those who request or receive food or other products and services for delivery or pick-up via their YizFood, or YizFresh account. 

Delivery persons: those who provide delivery services via YizFood, YizFresh, or YizExpress. 

Guest users: those without a Yizcab account who receive ride and delivery services ordered by other Yizcab account owners, including those who receive services arranged by Yizcab for Business customers; or by friends, family members or other individual account owners; and gift card recipients.

This notice also governs Yizcab’s other collections of data in connection with its services. For example, we may collect contact information of owners or employees of restaurants or merchants on the YizFood, or YizFresh; or data of those who start but do not complete their applications to be drivers or delivery persons.

All those subject to this notice are referred to as “users” in this notice.

Our privacy practices are subject to applicable laws in the places in which we operate. This means that we engage in the practices described in this notice in a particular country or region only if permitted under the laws of those places.

III. Data Collection and Usage

A. The Data Yizcab collects :

  1. Users Data:
    • Account Information: Yizcab collects data when users create or update their Yizcab accounts. This includes first and last name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment information, user settings.
      • For drivers and delivery persons, this also includes vehicle and insurance information, emergency contact information, and evidence of health or fitness to provide services using Yizcab apps.
    • Background Check Information (Drivers and Delivery Persons): This includes information submitted during the driver/delivery person application process, such as driver history or criminal record, license status, addresses, and right to work.
    • Identity Verification Documents and Photos: This includes government-issued identification such as driver’s license or passports, and user-submitted photos such as selfies and profile pictures.
    • Demographic Data: Yizcab collects demographic data such as birth date, gender, or occupation when necessary to enable certain features or provide access to age-restricted products or services.
    • User Content: Yizcab collects data (including chat logs and call recordings) when users contact Yizcab customer support, provide ratings or feedback, use features that enable users to upload content or submit recordings, or otherwise contact Yizcab.
  2. Data Created During Use of Our Services:
    • Location Data (Driver and Delivery Person): Yizcab collects precise and approximate location data from drivers’ and delivery persons’ mobile devices when the Yizcab app is running.
    • Location Data (Riders and Order Recipients): Yizcab collects precise and/or approximate location information from riders’ and order recipients’ mobile devices if they enable us to do so via their device settings.
    • Transaction Information: Yizcab collects transaction information related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided; trip or order details; and payment transaction information.
    • Usage Data: Yizcab collects data about how users interact with our services, including access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, browser type, and app crashes.
    • Device Data: Yizcab collects data about the devices used to access our services, including hardware models, device IP address, operating systems, and mobile network data.
    • Communications Data: Yizcab collects data regarding communications between users that are enabled through Yizcab’s apps.
  3. Data From Other Sources:
    • Users participating in our referral programs.
    • Yizcab account owners who request services for or on behalf of other users.
    • Users or others providing information in connection with claims or disputes.
    • Yizcab business partners, including payment providers, social media services, or apps/websites that use Yizcab’s APIs.
    • Service providers helping verify users’ identity, background information, and eligibility to work.
    • Insurance, vehicle, or financial services providers for drivers and/or delivery persons.
    • Partner transportation companies.
    • Publicly available sources.
    • Marketing partners and service providers, including banks in connection with cash back programs, and data resellers.
    • Law enforcement officials, public health officials, and other government authorities.

B. How We Use Data

Yizcab uses data to enable reliable and convenient transportation, delivery, and other products and services. We also use data:

  1. To Provide Our Services:
    • Yizcab uses data to provide, personalize, maintain, and improve our services, including creating/updating accounts, enabling transportation, delivery, and other features, and matching drivers and delivery persons to users based on personal and non-personal data.
  2. Safety, Fraud Protection, and Security:
    • Yizcab uses data to maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our services and users, including verifying user accounts and identities, conducting background checks, and using facial recognition technology for identity verification and safety measures.
  3. Customer Support:
    • We use the information collected, including call recordings, chat logs, to provide customer support, investigate and address user concerns, and monitor and improve customer support responses and processes.
  4. Research and Development:
    • Yizcab utilizes data for analysis, machine learning, product development, research, and testing to enhance the convenience, safety, and security of our services, as well as to develop new features.
  5. Enabling Communications Between Users:
    • For facilitating communication between users, such as drivers contacting riders for pick-up locations or order recipients being informed about their orders.
  6. Marketing and Advertising:
    • Yizcab uses data to market its services and those of Yizcab partners, including personalized ads and communications based on users’ location, interests, and characteristics.
  7. Legal Proceedings and Requirements:
    • Yizcab uses data to investigate or address claims or disputes, satisfy legal requirements, and respond to legal processes or governmental requests, including from law enforcement.

C. Cookies and Third-Party Technologies

Yizcab and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies for various purposes, including authenticating users, remembering preferences, delivering and measuring advertising effectiveness, and analyzing online behaviors. We use Cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. These technologies allow us to collect and; analyze data for improved performance and better user experience

Your internet browser allows you the option of telling it which type of web Cookies you do or don’t accept. Without this capability, some parts of our website may not function properly. Cookies can be either “Persistent” or “Session” Cookies. The difference between the two is that Persistent Cookies remain on a personal computer or mobile device even when the user closes her web browser, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as they are no longer in use.

We use both session and persistent Cookies for the purposes set out below:

D. Data Sharing and Disclosure

1. With Other Users:

  • For drivers and delivery persons, sharing data with riders, order recipients, and restaurants/merchants. Sharing data like riders’ names, ratings, pickup/drop-off locations with drivers, or order details with other recipients in a group order.

2. At Users’ Request or With Users’ Consent:

  • Sharing data with friends, emergency services, insurance companies, merchants/restaurants, and other users as requested or with consent.

3. With Yizcab Service Providers and Business Partners:

  • Sharing data with payment processors, background check providers, customer support platforms, social media companies, marketing partners, and various service providers for different aspects of Yizcab’s operations.

4. For Legal Reasons or in the Event of a Dispute:

  • Sharing data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if deemed appropriate due to safety concerns. This includes sharing data with law enforcement, government authorities, insurance companies, and others in the event of a dispute or to enforce Yizcab’s policies.

5. With Consent:

  • Sharing data with user consent for purposes not covered in this notice.

This data sharing is conducted to fulfill the terms of agreements, comply with legal requirements, or serve legitimate interests.

E. Data Retention and Deletion

Yizcab retains user data for the duration necessary for the purposes described below. Users have the option to request account deletion through the Yizcab apps and websites.

Yizcab retains user data based on factors such as data type, user category, the initial purpose of data collection, and whether data must be kept after an account deletion request for specific reasons. Examples of data retention include:

  • For the duration of users’ accounts: Data necessary to provide services (e.g., account data).
  • Up to 7 years: Data required for tax compliance (e.g., drivers’ and delivery persons’ trip or delivery location information).
  • Defined periods for safety or fraud prevention: Incomplete driver applications are retained for 1 year, and rejected driver applications for 7 years.

Users can initiate an account deletion request through the Account menus in the Yizcab app or via the Yizcab website

Upon receiving an account deletion request, Yizcab proceeds to delete the user’s account and associated data. However, certain data may be retained for purposes of safety, security, fraud prevention, compliance with legal requirements, or to address outstanding issues related to the user’s account (such as unresolved claims or disputes).

For drivers and delivery persons, specific data may be retained for the duration necessary for actual or potential tax, litigation, or insurance claims. In the case of rider and order recipients, Yizcab generally deletes data within 90 days of receiving an account deletion request, unless retention is essential for the aforementioned reasons.

IV. Legal Basis

Yizcab is processing user data in compliance with relevant legal frameworks governing data transfers. This may involve the processing of personal data in countries, where data protection laws may differ from those in the user’s country of residence. Key considerations include:

  1. Global Data Processing:Yizcab conducts operations and processes user data on a global scale, facilitating services and providing access to information (e.g., trip/order history) wherever users request them.
  2. Server Location:The processing of user data takes place on Yizcab’s servers located in the United States, among other potential global locations.
  3. Data Access and Customer Service:Global data transfers are essential for providing users with seamless access to their information, ensuring efficient responses from Yizcab’s customer service agents, and addressing government or law enforcement requests as necessary.
  4. Commitment to Data Protection:Yizcab is dedicated to safeguarding users’ personal data, irrespective of their location or the location where the data is processed. This commitment involves implementing global measures to protect user data, including:
    • Encryption: Ensuring the security of user data during transit and at rest through encryption.
    • Training Programs: Conducting company-wide training initiatives focused on privacy and data security.
    • Internal Policies and Procedures: Implementing robust internal policies and procedures to limit access to and use of users’ data.
  5. Limiting Government and Law Enforcement Access:Yizcab restricts access to user data by government and law enforcement entities, except in cases where it is mandated by law, there are imminent threats to safety, or users have explicitly consented to such access. Yizcab’s commitment to transparency is evident in its Transparency Report, which provides additional details on practices related to law enforcement requests.

Yizcab prioritizes the protection of user data globally, employing comprehensive measures to ensure the security and privacy of user information across borders.

We always strive for transparency in all of our contact with you. This includes requirements for providing consent to specific uses as well as information about how we review, use, and retain your content metadata.

Getting personal information to complete a contract is important and may allow the company to avoid certain legal consequences. It might also mean that they are not able to provide you with services. When you download our App, we collect and process your personal data, such as location information, so that drivers can find you in a timely manner. Refusing to share your location will cause it to be unavailable for driver directions and when looking for reservations.

3. Children’s Privacy

We do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you realize that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. We are not aware that We collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verifying parental consent on Our servers. If this happens, We will remove the information from Our servers.

4. Links to Other Websites

We may link to other websites that aren’t operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be taken to that website’s site. It’s important that you read the privacy policy for every site you visit.

We do not censor any 3rd party sites or the content on those sites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, protections, privacy policies, or practices of any third party site with which we are linked.

5. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We will update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is made, we’ll notify You via the Forum or via other means.

Email or a prominent notice before the change takes effect will be sent to provide notification of what changes are coming, as well as providing an update with the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

Visitors should periodically check the privacy policy for any changes that have been posted on this site. Changes to the privacy policy will remain in effect until a new copy is posted to this page.
